All - curious really, I use Tiscali for my broadband, and whilst it's relatively cheap, it's also pretty slow!! I just used www.speedtest.net to check the performance and got the following figures: - Iceni Way
- 1546kb/s download
- 381kb/s upload
Anyone else want to test their broadband performance for me and post their results? Please can you post your streetname as well, so we can get an idea of difference speeds acros Arbury Park? Personally, I'm extremely disappointed by this, and the fact that we're on an old exchange at the Science Park, and that Virgin media (NTL as was) didn't see fit to install cable at Arbury Park. If we were on the city centre exchange we could have access to ADSL2 with speeds up to 24Mb/s (yeah right!!). Here's the info on our exchange: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EASCI Notice all the crosses, particularly under the LLU column and that we'll have to wait for 2011 for the 21st Century Network from BT!! Notice this is the exchange for the Science Park and it doesn't even have SDSL enabled!! Now here's the city centre exchange: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/EACAM This is a great visual indicator of the exchange coverage: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/mapping/mapping.php?ecode=EASCI Just click on the little exchange icons and choose the 'show/hide exchange coverage' option...we just miss out on the city centre coverage and the Huntingdon Road coverage. Looking forward to finding a better supplier... - Nick |
